Winter Faire ~ a Wonderful Expression of Community!
The tantalizing aroma of home baked goods ~ creatively crafted handwork, beautifully decorated and nicely displayed ~ families and friends working together to make personal treasures and gifts for each other ~ heartwarming conversations ~ children’s voices filling the air with songs ~ and so much more. This is just a sampling of last Saturday’s Winter Faire, the MSCS community at its best, working together to create magical, memorable moments for our children and families.
It was great to see a lot of new faces this year. New families jumped in and put their love and creativity to work alongside faithful Winter Faire veterans who paved the way with their gifts and service. Our Festivals Committee Chairs, Cambria Miller (Cammy) and Annielaurie Mozee, did their usual excellent job of organizing and planning the event, keeping the true spirit of Waldorf festivals alive at MSCS. Many hours of work went on behind the scenes to make this event successful. Thanks so much to all of you who helped set up, manned craft tables and games, served delicious treats, cleaned up afterwards, and in general made this a very enjoyable day. Special thanks to Mr. Cordova and our 8th grade class for cooking “tons” of beans, making chili, and serving the baked goods. The food was tasty, and their service was friendly and helpful.
It was such a joy to experience the sweet spirit of cooperation, friendliness, and love that permeated the day. It made me proud to be a part of Mountain Song Community School and the people who make it so special.
