Happy New Year and Welcome!

Happy New Year and Welcome!

Welcome back to our beautiful Mountain Song Community School!  We are so happy to see you and embark on another semester of learning, growing, and caring together. We have some new students as well as new teachers joining our school, and we extend our warmest welcome to all.

We are delighted to welcome our new Red Oak first grade teacher, Ms. Joan Donati, who will be assisted by Ms. Tiffany Maniates and mentored by Ms. Ieeda Banach.  Ms. Donati holds a degree in Elementary Education, is certified in Urban Education, is an accomplished teacher in grades pre-K through 5, and has experience providing services and interventions to exceptional students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.  She also was a Civil Affairs Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving as Program Manager for Humanitarian Operations in the Republic of Haiti. We feel fortunate to have Ms. Donati join Mountain Song Community School to lead the Red Oak class.

We also are pleased to welcome two World Language teachers to Mountain Song.  Maestra Maria Webb will be teaching Spanish in grades 1 through 5, bringing her vivacious love of children and language in creative and artistic ways to our school.  She has a strong record of teaching Spanish to elementary students successfully and effectively. Doña Anita Schlichting will be teaching Spanish in the middle school, as well as introducing the 7th and 8th grade students to other world languages, including French and German.  She brings her rich experiences in language, travel, and teaching to Mountain Song, along with her love of teaching middle school students.

We are excited and feel fortunate about such experienced and capable teachers joining the Mountain Song Community as we ring in the New Year!
