Dia de los Muertos Activities
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) was observed during the week of October 22-26, which culminated in a culturally rich assembly on Friday, October 26 that included a number of students performing. An ancient tradition from Mexico, Dia de los Muertos honors the lives of loved ones who have died and also celebrates the gift of life. Students and families participated in creating ofrendas that allowed us to come together and share fond stories and remember those we cherish who have passed on.
Spanish teacher, Oralia Venzor, led the activities of creating the ofrendas and preparing the performances. Below are some snippets of the week and assembly.
Muchas gracias, Maestra Venzor!
