Día de los Muertos Activities

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) was observed at Mountain Song during the week of October 21-25, which culminated in a culturally rich assembly on Friday, October 25 that included a number of students performing.  An ancient tradition from Mexico, Día de los Muertos honors the lives of loved ones who have died and also celebrates the gift of life. Students and families participated in creating ofrendas that allowed us to come together and share fond stories and remember those we cherish whom have passed on.  Spanish teachers, Oralia Venzor and Maria Webb, led the activities of creating the ofrendas and preparing the performances.  Below are some snippets of the week and assembly.   Muchas gracias, Maestras Venzor and Webb!
