Class Spotlight – Willow 6th Grade
Our 6th Grade Willow class, taught by the amazing Ms. Splees, is working on their class play. The script is an original creation written by Ms. Splees, based on the stories of constellations that the class wrote during their Astronomy unit. The kids are working hard, and it should be a very creative and fun production! Parents can help their students by running lines with them, as it is essential for everyone to be off-book by the beginning of next week. Also, any parent volunteers that would like to help with sets, costumes, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
The next block will be a Practical Economics block, combining the class’s ongoing study of Rome with money management. Students will pretend to be Roman citizens in a variety of occupations and calculate what it would cost for them to live comfortably in or around Rome.
For the next two weeks, there will be CMAS testing in all the grades and the Willow students are working hard to be prepared for this yearly event. Please encourage your student to do his or her best so that it is an accurate sample of what our amazing 6th Graders can do.
The Willow class is planning a field trip to the Air Force Academy Planetarium on April 16th, which will enrich their learning from the Astronomy block.
